How to research a Mercari listing before you buy

When you research a used item on Mercari or another marketplace, match the model, condition, and accessories before using a number in a decision.

Search results are a starting point. Choose close comparisons, record the differences, then set a buy price.

Start with the model

A product name can mix generations. Check the box, body, settings screen, or label for the model candidate.

Match condition and accessories

Like new, used, parts-only, and box-only are not the same market. Record lenses, chargers, manuals, and other included items.

Separate sold and active

A sold-out label is not enough; verify the same model and condition. An active listing is still a request, not a completed sale.

Open the source page

Automated extraction and snippets can be wrong. Re-check the seller description and photos on the source page for important purchases.

A practical 相場サーチ sequence

Follow listing → 相場を調べる → photo or keyword → condition. Narrow the results to the same model, check accessories, and record sold-out results separately from active listings. Treat an inaccessible result or source page as unverified.

Keep this in mind

PashaPrice does not promise access to every listing or data that a marketplace does not expose. Check the evidence it could actually retrieve.
